Thanks to $18,000.00 in donations and a grant from the Department of Agriculture, the Maine Assocaition of Livestock Exhibitors were able to purchase a milking parlor to be used by dairy farmers exhibiting at Maine fairs.

In 2008 the parlor was used by Bangor, Skowhegan, Windsor, Farmington and Cumberland fairs as well as the State Holstein Show and the New England Holstein Conventions Sale.

  • 198 cows were milked
  • 53 exhibitors used parlor
  • 31 farms
  • 41,321 pounds of milk was shipped to Oakhurst Dairy
  • before each fair an inspection takes place with overall rating of 100%
  • the graphics on the parlor is of the Tibbets Farm in Whitefield
